The SHINE Visibility Method™
A nervous system informed visibility framework for creatives, entrepreneurs and professionals who want to show up authentically with more confidence and ease.
What Is the SHINE Visibility Method?
The SHINE Visibility Method™ is a nervous-system-informed visibility framework created by Stacey Hagen (MBA, CPC) as part of the Show Up and Shine® program. This visibility method was created to help introverts, highly sensitives, and anyone who struggles with being seen feel more comfortable with sharing their authentic self in their work.
Unlike traditional visibility and marketing guidance, which is often surface level and focused on action, the SHINE Visibility Method takes a nervous system approach to visibility, recognizing that visibility starts with feeling safe in the body. The SHINE Visibility Method is rooted in trauma-informed practices, so that participants learn to be visible from a grounded, boundaried place that feels safe in their bodies.
From that foundation of safety, the SHINE Visibility Method focuses on helping people connect with their authentic voices and and the deeper purpose behind the message they want to share. Rather than approaching visibility as performance, the framework supports authentic, grounded self-expression that feels aligned with who a person truly is.
The SHINE Visibility Method addresses the role of mindset in visibility, helping people recognize and shift limiting beliefs and internal patterns that can reinforce fear or self-protection. The framework emphasizes intentional energy management, boundaries, and sustainable visibility practices that help support emotional well-being and reduce visibility burnout.
Why was the SHINE Visibility Method created?
Being seen and known or being visible is core human need, as important as belonging and connection.
Traditional visibility advice tells us that we need to “be more visible” and “put ourselves out there” in order to be known, establish a brand, share a creative project, or fulfill our life’s mission and purpose. Typical visibility advice doesn’t work for everyone, because it doesn’t take into account the nervous system.
For many people, the fear of being seen or trepidation around visibility is not due to a lack of self-discipline or willingness to take action. Instead, this deep-seated fear is often tied to past experiences, conditioning, and trauma around being seen, which has resulted in feeling unsafe. This can affect how a person presents themselves (and how confident they feel in doing so) in work, business, creative ventures, and public arenas.
The SHINE Visibility Method was created to offer a different approach to visibility: one that addresses both the inner and outer work of being seen. The framework integrates nervous system safety, mindset, clarity of purpose, authentic self-expression, and energy management alongside the practical and actionable aspects of visibility and marketing.
How was the SHINE Visibility Method created?
The SHINE Visibility Method is the proprietary framework that forms the foundation of Show Up and Shine, a program developed by Stacey Hagen, MBA and Certified Professional Coach, in 2020 and trademarked in 2021 and offered publicly since 2020.
After years of coaching creatives and entrepreneurs, Stacey found that traditional visibility advice often didn’t work for the most sensitive, thoughtful, and highly self-aware entrepreneurs. Many clients struggled because their efforts to be visible activated perfectionism, overwhelm, fear, burnout, and in many cases, a deep sense of feeling unsafe being seen.
In working with these clients, Stacey recognized that visibility is not simply a marketing or accountability issue. For many people, it’s a deeply-rooted nervous system issue. Traditional advice that focused solely on consistency or pushing through fear (the “just do it” mentality) often forced clients into a burnout cycle that resulted in shame and exhaustion, and in many cases, stalling out altogether.
The SHINE Visibility Method was created to offer a more holistic and sustainable approach to visibility: one that addresses the inner and outer aspects of being seen through nervous system safety, mindset work, energy management, clarity of purpose, authentic self-expression, and practical visibility strategies.
The SHINE Visibility Method is teaches how to approach visibility from a more grounded, authentic, and emotionally safe place. Through this work, people are supported in developing greater self-trust, confidence, and clarity around who they are, what they want to share, and how they want to express themselves authentically in the world.
The end result is being able to be more visible from a grounded, authentic, and emotionally safe place.
Who is the SHINE Visibility Method for?
The SHINE Visibility Method is for anyone who struggles with showing up as their authentic self and being visible or being seen in their professional or creative roles.
This can include:
Those who identify as introverts and/or highly sensitive people
Anyone who struggles with showing up as their “real selves”
Creatives, such as artists, writers, painters, and more
Business owners, entrepreneurs, and solo entrepreneurs
Leaders, thought leaders, speakers
Coaches, healers, practitioners
Anyone who has to be the face and voice of their brand.
This includes mission-driven and purpose-oriented people who feel they have a calling and message to share but feel held back or resistant to share it.
Many people who resonate with this work have previously found themselves in cycles of:
perfectionism
avoidance
overwhelm
shutting down
anxiety
overthinking
inconsistency
performing
emulating someone else
visibility burnout
The SHINE Visibility Method avoids the burnout cycle by starting first with the inner aspects of the work.
Why Visibility Feels Challenging
For some people, visibility feels natural. For others, it can feel deeply vulnerable, emotionally charged, or even unsafe. This is because visibility anxiety and the fear of being seen are frequently connected to nervous system patterns, past experiences, and familial, societal, and cultural conditioning around being seen.
Over time, the nervous system may have associated visibility with risk, shame, exposure, or danger. When this happens, the body can respond to visibility as a threat rather than an opportunity, even when a person consciously wants to be seen, share their work, or express themselves more fully.
The SHINE Visibility Method breaks this cycle by recognizing the relationship between the nervous system and visibility. Rather than forcing visibility through pressure, the framework is designed to support people in creating more safety, self-trust, and sustainability around being seen.

How the SHINE Visibility Method is different
The SHINE Visibility Method treats visibility as a whole-person experience that includes the nervous system, mindset, energy, emotions, purpose, and authentic self-expression.
Rather than teaching people to override themselves in order to be seen, the SHINE Visibility Method helps people create visibility that feels authentic, real, sustainable, grounded, aligned, and safer.
This work is especially supportive for people who have felt overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or emotionally flooded by traditional visibility and online business advice.

The 5 Pillars of the SHINE Visibility Method™
The SHINE Visibility Method™ is built around five interconnected pillars that support authentic, grounded, and sustainable visibility. While each pillar addresses a different aspect of the visibility journey, they work together to help people develop a healthier relationship with being seen and expressing themselves authentically.
S — Safety
The Safety pillar recognizes that for many people, visibility is not simply a marketing challenge—it can also feel emotionally or physically unsafe. Past experiences, conditioning, fear of criticism or rejection, and nervous system responses can all influence how someone experiences being seen. This pillar focuses on creating greater nervous system awareness, grounding, and emotional safety so that visibility feels less threatening and more sustainable.

H — Healthy Mindset
A healthy mindset provides the foundation for confident and authentic visibility. This pillar focuses on developing greater awareness of the thoughts, beliefs, and mental patterns that influence how people show up. By recognizing perfectionism, fear of judgment, imposter syndrome, people pleasing, and other limiting beliefs, people can begin cultivating a mindset that supports self-trust, confidence, and authentic expression.

I — Intentional Energy
Visibility should be sustainable, not exhausting. The Intentional Energy pillar emphasizes the importance of managing physical, emotional, and energetic resources while creating healthy boundaries that support long-term consistency. Rather than relying on pressure or hustle, this pillar encourages visibility practices that help reduce overwhelm, prevent burnout, and make showing up feel more sustainable over time.

N — North Star
Meaningful visibility begins with a clear sense of purpose. The North Star pillar helps people reconnect with the deeper mission, values, and vision behind their work so that visibility becomes an expression of something meaningful rather than simply a marketing task. When people understand why they want to be visible and the impact they hope to make, it becomes easier to stay aligned, motivated, and resilient.

E — Embodied Expression
Authentic visibility is the natural expression of the work developed through the first four pillars. The Embodied Expression pillar focuses on helping people express their genuine voice, perspective, personality, and ideas rather than performing, masking, or trying to imitate others. Instead of becoming someone different in order to be visible, this pillar supports showing up with greater confidence, authenticity, and alignment as one’s true self.
Learn more: Authentic Visibility vs. Performative Visibility
Together, these five pillars create an integrated, holistic approach to visibility that goes beyond strategy. By addressing both the inner and outer aspects of being seen, the SHINE Visibility Method™ supports people in developing a more authentic, grounded, and sustainable relationship with visibility.
