not seeing results in business

The real reasons you’re not seeing results in your business

Not seeing results in your business can be super frustrating. When you’ve put all your blood, sweat, and tears (metaphorically) into your business, and you don’t have anything to show for it, it can really drain your motivation.

A  common theme I’ve I’ve noticed with new business owners is the desire to give up entirely when something doesn’t go as planned in business.

For example:

  • You hoped or even expected to have 10 clients by now, but you only have 1 or 2.
  • You wanted to launch your course by October, but it’s December and you still haven’t launched.
  • You wanted to make 6 figures this year, but you’re not even halfway there.

As a business owner myself, I know how disheartening it can be to not be seeing the results you want… despite your best efforts!

And… this scenario is more common than you think.

Why you might not being seeing results — despite your best efforts

There are a few common reasons I see when business owners aren’t seeing the results they want.

If you’re not where you want to be, see if you say YES to any of the following:

You have really lofty goals and your results don’t match up.

I set a lot of high goals for myself and have a lot on my to do list. But this also means I have to be OK with not everything getting done as fast as I’d like.

If you’re also a high goal-setter and high achiever, you’re likely always going to be thinking steps ahead of your business — and your results. That’s just how it goes.

If this sounds like you, remember that you don’t have to do *everything* all at once. It’s perfectly OK to have those lofty goals, but be aware that it might take time for reality (and your results) to catch up.

You don’t have a clear strategy to get the results you desire.

Throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks can be a real time-waster. And it’s easy to get sucked into doing just that.

One expert is telling you to start a podcast. Another expert is telling you to use Facebook groups. Yet another is telling you to use Instagram ads.

You can’t do it all (and you certainly can’t do it all effectively)! That’s why you want to have a clear and tailored marketing plan that helps you measure the results you are achieving, so that you can modify as needed.

You don’t have a compelling offer.

Maybe you created a coaching package or offer that you’re putting out there, but it’s just… crickets.

In many cases, it’s because you haven’t done enough research to really validate what your ideal clients want. No amount of marketing will sell a product that clients don’t care about!

Your core offering (and your core messaging) should reflect your ideal clients’ challenges and/or desires. If not, you need to go back to the drawing board and do some ideal client market research.

You haven’t given it enough time and action.

I work with a lot of spiritual entrepreneurs and I believe in manifesting and visioning and all the things.

But what I know is that visioning needs to be coupled with action to get where you want to go.

“If I build it, they will come” is not a strategy. You need to take aligned action.

This also means being willing to let go of the time frame. We can’t control *when* things happen. We can only do our part, which is showing up, providing excellent service, and the rest is out of our control.

You can’t support the type of result you’re expecting.

Sometimes we’re just not ready for the results we want. We may *think* we want said result, but something within us just isn’t ready for it.

  • Our nervous system doesn’t have the capacity to hold what we want.
  • Our schedule can’t accommodate the number of clients we want to serve.
  • We don’t have the systems in place to attract and nurture leads.
  • We don’t have the audience numbers to support the type of conversion rates we expect.

Each of these pieces needs to be in place to support the type of growth you want to experience.

If you’re not getting the business results you want, that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you!

It’s tempting to go into a shame spiral when you think you’re not measuring up in some way, even if it’s to your own expectations.

Just because you didn’t get the results you want doesn’t mean that anything is wrong with you.

It simply means that something — whether it be your mindset, your strategy, your actions, or your capacity — needs to be attended to. Or, it may simply mean that things are working… they just take time!

Two things to do when you’re not seeing results

If you find yourself here, your work FIRST is to know, believe, and embody that you are worthy and valid *even if* you aren’t seeing the results you want.

Second, your work is to explore the contributing factors listed above and address them. This may mean working on your mindset. It may mean working on your systems or strategy. It may mean hiring support.

What it DOESN’T mean is that you need to give up.

If your business — and your dreams — are important to you, keep going.

Are you not getting the results you want in your business ?

It’s frustrating to not be able to pinpoint what’s not working. Often, having a neutral perspective from a business coach can help.

If you want support in getting clarity on what’s not working, so that you can make adjustments and improve your strategy, mindset, or actions, a Business Clarity Session might be perfect for you.
